Meribel
Located right in the centre of the Three Valleys, Meribel is one of the most popular ski resorts in the French Alps, and for good reason. Dubbed as one of the most stunning resorts in Europe, Meribel is also a paradise for skiers, even hosting the World Cup Alpine Ski Finals event in 2015. This charming resort extends from Brides-les-bains at 600m to Peclet-Polset at 3,650m – plus with 57 ski lifts and 150km of pistes there’s always some new ground to discover. The accommodation here is also as luxurious as you can get, with huge chalets right at the foot of the mountains. With plenty of room to practice skiing and great facilities, there’s no reason to miss Meribel this winter.
Megeve
With stunning views, Megeve is known to be one of the most upmarket ski resorts in the Alps. Surrounded with plenty of space to stretch out and ski, as well as take part in non-skiing activities – Megeve is a popular destination for powder hounds and families. Don’t miss out on one of its main attractions – the medieval village where narrowed, cobbled streets are filled with exclusive boutiques. Megeve is definitely a hidden gem within the French Alps.
Les Menuires
This family-friendly resort provides some of the best ski runs in the Alps. With direct links to Val Thorens, Meribel, Courchevel, Brides Les Bains and La Tania, Les Menuires is a very popular choice for many skiers when it’s time to book their holidays. With its mixture of traditional architecture, gorgeous chalets and luxury shops to spend your money in, Les Menuires is a charming location that keeps visitors coming back for more every winter season.
Serre Chevalier
Made up of dozens of villages such as Briancon, Chantemerle, Monetier Les Bains and Villeneuve, this hidden gem is a must if you want to discover a different side to skiing in France. A slightly more affordable option to the other luxury ski resorts on our list, Serre Chevalier’s laidback, friendly atmosphere makes it a great choice if you’re looking for something away from the crowds. But don’t be fooled into thinking Serre Chevalier is a resort that shouldn’t be taken seriously. Some excellent restaurants and diverse skiing terrain make it a great option for visitors who are after a range of options from their holiday.
