Always Niseko is hardly no frills — but the nightly rates will help offset your plane ticket.
“It’s time for something a bit different,” said Jonathan Martin, Chairman of accommodation providers Niseko Alpine Developments NISADE, which brought Japan properties like the luxurious Vale Niseko and designer home, Glasshouse.
The chairman wasn’t referring to another 5-star property in the powder-haven of Niseko, which draws skiers from across the world. He was speaking of the group’s newest hotel, Always Niseko, a 104-room modern property with a price point designed to target more modest minds.
“Niseko has a need for lower cost accommodation that doesn’t compromise on quality or comfort,” Martin said. “And that’s what Always will deliver.”
Always Niseko is a ten-minute walk from downtown Hirafu, says NISADE, and guests can take advantage of a private shuttle service and a location directly on Niseko United’s inter-resort bus route. The hotel also features high-speed WiFi and an on-site cafe.
Always Niseko is the brain child of investors and long-time Niseko enthusiasts Alan Cheok and Wayne Yang, who own second homes in the region.
With rooms available during the Christmas and New Year period this season from just Y10,500 per person ($103!) per night, the hotel has earned a reputation as a hidden gem in just its first year open.
